As warm and inviting as Verbier ski chalets

With holiday accommodation such as warm, inviting ski chalets and comfortable bed and breakfasts available, holidaymakers are spoiled for choice, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t take the time to look about, as they never know what they’ll find when holidaying in Verbier, one of the world’s premier ‘off-piste’ ski resorts, or by the sea in Torquay, the English Riviera.

Torquay

Located in scenic Devon, Torquay, justifiably known as the English Riviera, has something to offer everyone, from singles and couples to families looking to spend quality time together. There are quite a few attractions in the area, in addition to the scenery and wildlife for which this part of the country is renowned (hence its Global Geopark status), and some attractions in the area that might interest holidaymakers include:

Princess Theatre

In addition to these attractions there are also plenty of popular restaurants in Torquay, and these are perfect for unwinding after a day sightseeing or relaxing on the beaches that Torquay, and indeed the entire South Devon Coast, is famous for.

Verbier

As mentioned earlier, Verbier is one of the world’s premier off-piste skiing resorts and areas which make it a destination that shouldn’t be missed by those with a love of skiing or snowboarding. Along with the resorts at Thyon, Veysonnaz, and Nendaz, Verbier is part of the Four Valleys ski area, and the combined length of runs in this world renowned skiing area totals a staggering 412km, making it a part of the Swiss Alps, and indeed the world, that shouldn’t be missed if you’ve a love of skiing, snowboarding or both. The skiing season in Verbier generally runs from December to the end of April, and as altitudes in the area range from 1500m to 3300m (at the summit of the Mont Ford Glacier), snow is guaranteed during these months, unlike some other ski resorts. The village of Verbier is dominated by a central square and the village church, and the mix of chalets in the village is a blend of the modern and the traditional. There are slopes here for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities, from beginners to experts, moreover the beginner slopes are located in the heart of the village; perfect for families with children experiencing the wonders of skiing or snowboarding for the first time.

Accommodation

As mentioned earlier, holidaymakers are spoiled for choice with regard to holiday accommodation in Torquay and Verbier, and as both places are as popular as they are, booking accommodation prior to making one’s way to either of these popular holiday destinations is a must. Whilst holidaymakers in Verbier will no doubt be looking at verbier ski chalets, as this is the most comfortable style of accommodation available in the area, holidaymakers spending some time in scenic Torquay often look at comfortable bed and breakfasts, of which there are quite a few.

Ski chalets in Verbier are extremely comfortable, if not outright luxurious, but holidaymakers shouldn’t be put off by thinking that they’ll be far too expensive to stay in as the truth is often just the opposite. Bed and breakfasts in Torquay are also very comfortable, and can be just as warm and inviting as a chalet in Verbier; furthermore in addition to well-appointed bedrooms they also boast comfortable public rooms and a garden. When booking a chalet in Verbier don’t overlook the importance of location, as you’ll want to be within a few minutes’ walk from ski lifts and the town centre, and also make sure your chalet has stunning views, as most do.
